What is the definition of Faux Fur fabric?

Faux Fur is the name used for artificial fur.  It is a pile fabric made to look and feel like real fur.  It was first introduced on the market in 1929.  However, the true modern fake furs were not developed until the mid-1950s, with the introduction of acrylic polymers

Today the technology has made it very difficult to tell Faux fur from real fur.  Its increasing popularity has been credited to its promotion by animal rights and animal welfare organizations which claim that it is an animal-friendly alternative to traditional fur clothing.  Lately, fake fur is being used increasingly in the mainstream teen fashions, for example it is used in hats, scarves, and other fashion accessories.   Unlike real fur, fake fur is a fabric and does not require cold storage to prevent deterioration and is not prone to being eaten by moths.

Faux fur is used for all purposes where otherwise real fur (of animal origin) would be used, but also for stuffed animals, fashion accessories and home decorations like pillows, bedding and throws.  Exquisite Furs wants you to be warm and beautiful without hurting any animals.
